Minutes

The Bancroft County Public Health Board of Trustees met at 5:30 p.m. in the conference room of the Community Services Building, Adams Junction. Chair Rao called the meeting to order.

Present: Trustees Rao, Kellerman, Benitez, Hoyt, and Mehta. Also present: Public Health Director Dr. Lena Foss and Community Health Nurse Supervisor Karen Whitfield, RN.

Motion by Hoyt, seconded by Mehta, to approve the May 21, 2026 minutes. Carried 5–0.

Director Foss reported that Bancroft County and three neighboring counties have reached agreement in principle on a shared regional subacute mental health care unit, to be sited in a neighboring county and governed by a joint 28E agreement. The Board of Supervisors authorized the County Attorney to begin negotiating the agreement at its July 7 meeting.

Motion by Mehta, seconded by Kellerman, to endorse the regional subacute mental health partnership and recommend the Board of Supervisors include the county's share of costs in the FY2028 budget within the levy caps established by SF 2472. Carried 5–0.

With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m.. Next meeting: as scheduled.
