Minutes

The Bancroft County Public Health Board of Trustees met at 5:30 p.m. in the conference room of the Community Services Building, Adams Junction. Chair Rao called the meeting to order.

Present: Trustees Rao, Kellerman, Benitez, Hoyt, and Mehta. Also present: Public Health Director Dr. Lena Foss and Community Health Nurse Supervisor Karen Whitfield, RN.

Motion by Kellerman, seconded by Benitez, to approve the March 19, 2026 minutes. Carried 5–0.

Director Foss reported the Iowa House sent a narrower subacute mental health care bill to the Governor on April 14. If signed, the bill would support regionally sited subacute facilities. Foss said Bancroft County's multi-county partnership discussions position the region to apply for support once the bill takes effect.

Motion by Hoyt, seconded by Mehta, to direct Director Foss to prepare a partnership funding proposal for Board review once the bill is signed. Carried 5–0.

With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:53 p.m.. Next meeting: as scheduled.
