Minutes

The Bancroft County Public Health Board of Trustees met at 5:30 p.m. in the conference room of the Community Services Building, Adams Junction. Chair Rao called the meeting to order.

Present: Trustees Rao, Kellerman, Benitez, Hoyt, and Mehta. Also present: Public Health Director Dr. Lena Foss and Community Health Nurse Supervisor Karen Whitfield, RN.

Motion by Benitez, seconded by Hoyt, to approve the August 21, 2025 minutes. Carried 5–0.

Foss reported that a subacute mental health care bill is expected to be introduced in the 2026 Iowa legislative session, which could create a pathway for state support of regional subacute facilities. Foss said Bancroft County, as part of a multi-county partnership, is well positioned to pursue this if the legislation passes.

With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:06 p.m.. Next meeting: as scheduled.
