Minutes

The Bancroft County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. in the Supervisors' Room of the courthouse. Chair Ostergaard called the meeting to order.

Present: Supervisors Ostergaard, Whitmore, and Cabrera. Also present: County Auditor Gene Prewitt, recording.

Minutes of August 11, 2026 and claims of $102,305.05 were approved, 3–0 (Cabrera/Whitmore).

Auditor Prewitt and Treasurer Koll recapped the August 11 town hall forum on SF 2472 and the new property tax law, attended by approximately 60 residents. Common questions concerned the timing of the levy caps (first effective for the FY2028 budget), how homestead relief will appear on tax statements, and the status of the farm building exemption legislation. Staff will incorporate the questions into the fall tax-statement insert.

No public comment.

Motion by Whitmore, seconded by Cabrera, to adjourn. Motion carried 3–0. Meeting adjourned at 9:52 a.m..
