Minutes

The Bancroft County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. in the Supervisors' Room of the courthouse. Chair Ostergaard called the meeting to order.

Present: Supervisors Ostergaard, Whitmore, and Cabrera. Also present: County Auditor Gene Prewitt, recording.

Minutes of July 28, 2026 and claims of $102,270.70 were approved, 3–0 (Cabrera/Whitmore).

Auditor Prewitt reported the Empower Rural Iowa fiber build serving Kessler and Hartsboro townships is complete and service is now available to the roughly 240 previously unserved households targeted by the 2025 grant application. A ribbon-cutting was held July 30 at the Hartsboro community center. The improved connectivity is also expected to support expanded telehealth access, including mental health services, in coordination with the Public Health Board.

No public comment.

Motion by Whitmore, seconded by Cabrera, to adjourn. Motion carried 3–0. Meeting adjourned at 9:38 a.m..
