Minutes

The Bancroft County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. in the Supervisors' Room of the courthouse. Chair Ostergaard called the meeting to order.

Present: Supervisors Ostergaard, Whitmore, and Cabrera. Also present: County Auditor Gene Prewitt, recording.

Minutes of June 30, 2026 and claims of $72,482.82 were approved, 3–0 (Cabrera/Whitmore).

Director Foss reported that Bancroft County, together with three neighboring counties, has reached agreement in principle on a shared regional subacute mental health care unit, to be sited in a neighboring county and funded through a joint 28E agreement, following passage of the state's subacute mental health legislation earlier this year.

Motion by Whitmore, seconded by Cabrera, to authorize the County Attorney to negotiate a 28E agreement for the regional subacute mental health partnership, with Bancroft County's share of ongoing costs to be included in the FY2028 budget within the levy caps established by SF 2472. Carried 3–0.

No public comment.

Motion by Whitmore, seconded by Cabrera, to adjourn. Motion carried 3–0. Meeting adjourned at 10:10 a.m..
