Minutes
The Bancroft County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. in the Supervisors' Room of the courthouse. Chair Ostergaard called the meeting to order.
Present: Supervisors Ostergaard, Whitmore, and Cabrera. Also present: County Auditor Gene Prewitt, recording.
Minutes of June 9, 2026 and claims of $42,721.21 were approved, 3–0 (Whitmore/Cabrera).
Auditor Prewitt presented a multi-year budget model under the SF 2472 general levy cap, showing a projected structural gap of roughly $340,000 by FY2030 if current service levels and cost trends continue unchanged. Prewitt outlined potential responses including deferred equipment replacement, a hiring review on future vacancies, and continued pursuit of state and federal grant funding.
The Board directed each department head to identify possible efficiencies of at least 2% for FY2028 review, while asking that public safety and secondary roads staffing be protected where possible.
No public comment.
Motion by Cabrera, seconded by Whitmore, to adjourn. Motion carried 3–0. Meeting adjourned at 9:19 a.m..
