Minutes

The Bancroft County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. in the Supervisors' Room of the courthouse. Chair Ostergaard called the meeting to order.

Present: Supervisors Ostergaard, Whitmore, and Cabrera. Also present: County Auditor Gene Prewitt, recording.

Minutes of May 26, 2026 and claims of $42,686.86 were approved, 3–0 (Whitmore/Cabrera).

In response to a rise in resident questions about how SF 2472 will affect future tax bills, the Board directed the Auditor and Treasurer to prepare a plain-language insert for fall property tax statements and a new page on the county website explaining the levy caps, the county's budget calendar, and how residents can participate in public hearings.

Motion by Cabrera, seconded by Whitmore, to approve the "Understanding Your Levy" initiative and a town hall forum to be scheduled for August. Carried 3–0.

No public comment.

Motion by Cabrera, seconded by Whitmore, to adjourn. Motion carried 3–0. Meeting adjourned at 10:05 a.m..
