Minutes

The Bancroft County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. in the Supervisors' Room of the courthouse. Chair Ostergaard called the meeting to order.

Present: Supervisors Ostergaard, Whitmore, and Cabrera. Also present: County Auditor Gene Prewitt, recording.

Minutes of April 14, 2026 and claims of $113,165.65 were approved, 3–0 (Whitmore/Cabrera).

The Board opened the public hearing on the proposed FY2027 budget at 9:15 a.m. Auditor Prewitt explained that the budget as published follows current law, with a note to residents that a pending state levy cap, if enacted, would first affect the FY2028 budget rather than the year now before the Board.

Motion by Cabrera, seconded by Whitmore, to close the public hearing and adopt the FY2027 budget as published, and to certify the budget to the Iowa Department of Management by the statutory deadline. Carried 3–0.

No public comment.

Motion by Cabrera, seconded by Whitmore, to adjourn. Motion carried 3–0. Meeting adjourned at 9:23 a.m..
