Minutes
The Bancroft County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. in the Supervisors' Room of the courthouse. Chair Ostergaard called the meeting to order.
Present: Supervisors Ostergaard, Whitmore, and Cabrera. Also present: County Auditor Gene Prewitt, recording.
Minutes of January 13, 2026 and claims of $153,791.91 were approved, 3–0 (Cabrera/Whitmore).
Auditor Prewitt reported that a property tax reform bill has been introduced that would cap annual growth in county general levy revenue, with a higher cap proposed for county hospital levies. Prewitt estimated the proposal, if enacted as introduced, could reduce the county's projected FY2028 general fund revenue growth by roughly $180,000 relative to current law. The Board expressed concern about the effect on secondary roads and public safety funding and asked to track the bill closely.
No public comment.
Motion by Whitmore, seconded by Cabrera, to adjourn. Motion carried 3–0. Meeting adjourned at 10:22 a.m..
