Minutes
The Bancroft County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. in the Supervisors' Room of the courthouse. Chair Ostergaard called the meeting to order.
Present: Supervisors Ostergaard, Whitmore, and Cabrera. Also present: County Auditor Gene Prewitt, recording.
Minutes of September 30, 2025 and claims of $143,785.85 were approved, 3–0 (Whitmore/Cabrera).
County Attorney Nakamura and Coordinator Sowards reported back on ambulance coverage options. A joint 28E agreement with a neighboring county would provide mutual-aid backup but does not solve the underlying staffing shortage; a countywide EMS district would require a special election and a dedicated levy.
Motion by Whitmore, seconded by Cabrera, to direct staff to draft a joint 28E mutual-aid ambulance agreement for Board review, and to schedule a public hearing this winter on a proposed EMS levy to fund a paid part-time EMT staffing supplement in Hartsboro. Carried 3–0.
No public comment.
Motion by Cabrera, seconded by Whitmore, to adjourn. Motion carried 3–0. Meeting adjourned at 10:07 a.m..
