Minutes

The Bancroft County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. in the Supervisors' Room of the courthouse. Chair Ostergaard called the meeting to order.

Present: Supervisors Ostergaard, Whitmore, and Cabrera. Also present: County Auditor Gene Prewitt, recording.

Minutes of August 12, 2025 and claims of $108,625.25 were approved, 3–0 (Cabrera/Whitmore).

Chair Ostergaard reported on the Iowa State Association of Counties summer conference, which she attended along with Auditor Prewitt. Discussion topics included the anticipated 2026 legislative push on county levy limits, rural mental health capacity, and federal payments in lieu of taxes on public lands. ISAC will begin drafting its 2026 legislative policy statements this fall for member county adoption.

No public comment.

Motion by Whitmore, seconded by Cabrera, to adjourn. Motion carried 3–0. Meeting adjourned at 10:48 a.m..
