Minutes

The Bancroft County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. in the Supervisors' Room of the courthouse. Chair Ostergaard called the meeting to order.

Present: Supervisors Ostergaard, Whitmore, and Cabrera. Also present: County Auditor Gene Prewitt, recording.

Minutes of July 8, 2025 and claims of $78,830.30 were approved, 3–0 (Whitmore/Cabrera).

Auditor Prewitt presented a mid-year review of the FY2026 budget, reporting revenues and expenditures tracking within projections.

Prewitt flagged that statewide discussion is building around possible legislation in the 2026 session to cap growth in city and county property tax levies. He recommended the county plan conservatively for future budget years pending more detail. The Board asked to receive updates as the legislative session approaches.

No public comment.

Motion by Cabrera, seconded by Whitmore, to adjourn. Motion carried 3–0. Meeting adjourned at 10:43 a.m..
