Minutes
The Bancroft County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. in the Supervisors' Room of the courthouse. Chair Ostergaard called the meeting to order.
Present: Supervisors Ostergaard, Whitmore, and Cabrera. Also present: County Auditor Gene Prewitt, recording.
Minutes of June 10, 2025 and claims of $49,041.41 were approved, 3–0 (Whitmore/Cabrera).
Coordinator Sowards reported that the volunteer ambulance squad serving Hartsboro and the surrounding townships has fallen to four active EMTs, below the level needed to guarantee 24-hour coverage. Sowards outlined three options for Board consideration: a county EMS subsidy, a joint 28E ambulance service agreement with a neighboring county, or formation of a countywide EMS district subject to voter approval.
The Board directed Sowards and County Attorney Nakamura to research the 28E and EMS-district options and report back this fall.
No public comment.
Motion by Cabrera, seconded by Whitmore, to adjourn. Motion carried 3–0. Meeting adjourned at 9:15 a.m..
