Minutes

The Bancroft County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. in the Supervisors' Room of the courthouse. Chair Ostergaard called the meeting to order.

Present: Supervisors Ostergaard, Whitmore, and Cabrera. Also present: County Auditor Gene Prewitt, recording.

Minutes of April 29, 2025 and claims of $149,218.18 were approved, 3–0 (Whitmore/Cabrera).

IT contractor representative Dana Ruiz and Auditor Prewitt presented a draft application to the state's Empower Rural Iowa broadband grant program to extend fiber service to underserved areas of Kessler and Hartsboro townships, where an estimated 240 households lack access to service meeting the state's minimum broadband standard.

Motion by Whitmore, seconded by Cabrera, to authorize submission of the broadband grant application, with a required local match of $85,000 from the county general fund. Carried 3–0.

No public comment.

Motion by Cabrera, seconded by Whitmore, to adjourn. Motion carried 3–0. Meeting adjourned at 10:33 a.m..
